After working since 2001 in the Back-Office of the Machinery Sales Department, my
"boss" and mentor, Peter Illi informed me that there will be an opening
in the Parts Sales Department, mainly to "push"
"The Vision Shield" the sales and some other products (New Products), in the Eastern markets. I applied for the position and after
a while I got the position (with the active help of Peter). My sales area was world wide but we soon concentrated on
the Eastern half of it, while we agreed that
Max Stöhr (JOSSI) looked after the West Europa & South America.
That made sense since Max knows these markets, speaks, French, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish. I on the other side was only passable in English but I knew my Indians very well and was comfortable with the Eastern markets. Food & booze is good!
That gave me a enough room to roam around and since my new boss,
Silvano Rufo, let me do "my stuff" without undue micro-management, I was very happy (my
"power naps" proved the fact!) and we all had a good time.
I stayed in this position until my (1st) retirement in June 2010, when I joined
JOSSI SYSTEMS, the manufacturers of
"The Vision Shield". I looked mainly after India, China and South East Asia. But that is another
story.

This was my first trip to China and an old dream come true!
Karl-Heinz Frick the MD of
Rieter China invited us:
Anya, Thomas Bachmann and myself to conduct a
"Road Show" covering centres of the Chinese Textile Industry. We enjoyed it very much
and was a very good introduction to this fascinating country.
